Connect The Mortgage Genie to ChatGPT and Claude

A public Model Context Protocol (MCP) server operated by The Mortgage Genie. Once added to a supported AI assistant, it exposes a small, fixed set of read-only tools that return the same public information published on this website. Indicative information only — not regulated financial advice.

Tools the connector exposes

  • get_mortgage_rates — the current sample UK mortgage rate snapshot published at /best-mortgage-rates. Indicative product headline rates, not personalised quotes.
  • calculate_mortgage_payment — standard capital-and-interest repayment from loan, term and rate. No affordability assessment.
  • calculate_stamp_duty — SDLT (England & NI), LBTT (Scotland) or LTT (Wales) using current published bands, including first-time buyer relief and the additional-property surcharge.
  • analyse_property — accepts a UK property listing URL or address and returns a structured summary of public information (asking price, indicative repayment, indicative stamp duty). It does not value the property.

What the connector cannot do

  • Cannot give a regulated mortgage or protection recommendation. That is a regulated activity under FSMA 2000 and requires an authorised adviser plus a documented fact-find and suitability assessment.
  • Cannot submit a Decision in Principle or a mortgage application to any lender.
  • Cannot access your credit file, bank data, income documents or any personal data held by The Mortgage Genie.
  • Cannot guarantee any rate. Real lender rates depend on your circumstances, LTV, credit profile and property.
  • Cannot advise on tax, legal or conveyancing questions.

Which information is live

The rate snapshot returned by get_mortgage_rates mirrors the same daily-refreshed table shown on /best-mortgage-rates. The calculators use the same formulas as the calculators on /calculators. Property-listing summaries are generated at call time from public listing data.

Data and privacy

  • The MCP server is public and unauthenticated. It does not receive, store or associate any account identity from your AI assistant.
  • Tool name, timestamp, coarse request metadata and any URL/address passed to analyse_property are logged for abuse prevention and rate-limiting, and retained for up to 30 days.
  • Do not send personal, financial or identifying information through the assistant to this server.
